Welcome / "Journey On"

Hello classmates and friends! Welcome to my blog. I look forward to sharing my experiences during this course with you and learning from you as we go along.

This week's assignment was the audio "Journey On" - a autogenic relaxation exercise. I found the musical tones and the guide's voice to be very soothing. The purpose of the exercise was to redirect the flow of blood within our body to arms and hands to promote relaxation in these areas. This exercise was especially interesting to me because I have numbness and tingling in my right hand as a result of nerve damage. My thumb and index finger on this hand often feel cold and stiff. During the exercise I was able to make them feel warm again. At the completion of the exercise I felt relaxed, refreshed and ready to get back to my work.

I listened to "Journey On" sitting at my computer in the loft area of our home. My eleven year old daughter was sitting at our kitchen table downstairs doing her homework and could hear the audio playing. I came downstairs to find her with her head down on the table, sound asleep! Apparently she found the musical tones and voice soothing as well!
